Creating new Note


Cmd + N

Creating new Tag


Cmd + T

(Then press Return when done typing the new tag name)

Saving active note


Cmd + S

If you edit more than one note at once - saves them all. Also works as "save" button: saves all latest changes.

Setting Deadline for an active note


Cmd + D

Click on a note to highlight it, then press Cmd + D. If you editing note, Cmd + D sets deadline ON and OFF. (Toggles between ON and OFF)

Finding a tag


Cmd + F

Press Cmd + F and start typing tag name. With each keystroke tag list will be shorter and shorter. When only one tag left in the list you can use Cmd + L to assign the tag to a highlighted note.

Assigning tag to a highLighted note


Cmd + L

Usually you want to assign tags to a note right after you have created it. Click Cmd + F and start typing tag name you want to assign. When only one tag left in the list - press Cmd + L.

Altertatively, first find tag you want to assign (Cmd + F, type tag's name) then click on a note to highlight it, then press Cmd + L. Click on another note to highlight and press Cmd + L again.

Run new search


Cmd + R

Click Cmd + F and start typing tag name you want to search for. When only one tag left in the list - press Cmd + R. (It's the same as Cmd + Click on any tag in the list)

To add a tag to the existing search - use Cmd + Ctrl + R

Adding tag to existing seaRch


Cmd + Ctrl + R

Click Cmd + Ctrl + R to add a tag to the existing search. (It's the same as dragging tag to the Search Ring and releasing while Ctrl pressed.)

Editing note


Cmd + E

Highlight a note, then press Cmd + E to edit it.

Switching between the Ring View and the Plain View

Cmd + ?

Actually, this is a Cmd + "/", but it helps to remember it as Cmd + "?"

Showing/hiding the Preferences panel


Cmd + ","

These are two keys: Cmd and comma.

Placing note above all notes and back


Ctrl + Click on the note

First click pulls note above all other notes.

Second click puts it back.

Also you may want to use "Place this note above" (the highlighted note) and "Place this note below" (the highlighted note) to place note right above or right below a highlighted note.

Toggling size of the note


Double Click on the note

The same as "Fit to size" and "Fit to standard size" from the "Note" menu.
